Also, a note on the asterisks... I will add all those notes in later. I'm running off of five hours of sleep here, folks!
Historical Notes on Characters and More!
**Notes on Bagoas: Bagoas origin's are widely unknown. It is known that he was intimate with King Darius, however, and that he soon became intimate with Alexander after he was presented as a gift by General Nabarzanes, a former general under King Darius.
**Notes on Nabarzanes: Nabarzanes was originally involved in the plot to kill Darius. The only reason he escaped from Alexander with a bare pardon, was because Bagoas made several pleas for the man. How Nabarzanes even got a hold of Bagoas from under Darius is a mystery. I didn't include this in the comic because I wanted to speed things along a bit.
**Notes on Alexander Hephaistion: Any homosexual liasons between the two are unsure, but it is assumed that they were lovers. The two compared themselves to Achilles and Patroclus from Homer's "The Illiad", both of which were intimate with one another, so it can generally be assumed that they were indeed friendly to a very intimate point.
**Notes On the Asterisks: Very soon, you will be seeing "*" next to a lot of the dialouge in the comic. This refers to stuff that is not explained in the comic, but will be explained in footnotes. I explain these in my journal as they appear, along with which page and frame the asterisk appears in.
I think you've got an awesome idea/story going on here. And I really like that its actually about sommething more than just a love story.
Ranks and society. Things like that. It keeps a person more interested.
::looks forward to more::! ^^
Hah! Well, I am a bit of a cynic and can't stomach sappy love stories, but I appreciate well-worked in romance. So, I tried to do that. ^^ Thanks for the read!
Me too! I just need to get my ass on it and scan the two I have done for issue two so far... and, another thing that has been holding me back is that I need to come up with a cover image. Those can be such a bitch sometimes...
Lol, well, I am a little less lazy now. It's just... I work now. It's rather exhausting staring at a computer screen all day and then going home and trying to focus your eyes on soemthing that doesn't have it's own light. The office working generation will become blind; I can guarantee that.
I'm in training to be a loan advisor right now... tring to get people to consolidate their student loans, essentially. It pays well, so I don't mind it so much so far.
Very good style of drawing, interesting story! I'd like to see some more =) And that's not all because of my general interest in Alexander the Great and Ancient Greek ;)
Oooh, a fellow... um... fan I suppose I could say! I'm really interested in the man... thus, the story. He truly is my hero. Glad you like the comic, more is being uploaded! ^^
